This is a non-parented class that runs for 30 weeks with a 45-minute class each week. The caregivers join their child for the last ten minutes of each class. The concepts and skills that are introduced in Step 1 are reviewed and expanded upon. Staff notation is introduced and the children learn to play 2 and 3-note melodies on the barred instruments. Rhythmic notation is expanded to include the half note and rest.
