Orff Music Calgary | Orff Music for Children

This is a non-parented class that runs for 30 weeks with a 45-minute class each week. The children learn to play the soprano recorder and are given specific songs to practice at home for 5-10 minutes each day. The children learn to accompany folk melodies with orchestrations on the Orff instruments, to perform simple folk dances, and to play instrumental orchestrations on the Orff instruments. Creativity becomes a larger part of the class as the students work together to contribute ideas to develop a simple melody or poem into a larger group composition.
